Name: Peter Stanley Buchberger Dates: Birth date: July 18, 1909 Death date: February 03, 2010 Obituary: Peter S. Buchberger, age 100, formerly of Mattoon, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at North Central Health Care, Wausau. He was born July 18, 1909 in Mattoon, the son of the late Peter and Carrie (Butler) Buchberger. On June 1, 1946, Peter was united in marriage to Emgard Reetz in Leopolis. She preceded him in death on April 8, 1996. the couple dairy farmed in Mattoon until their retirement. Peter represented Mattoon on the Shawano County Board in the 50’s and 60’s. Peter was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Mattoon and was an avid sports fan. Peter is survived by two children, Gary Buchberger and Ellen Buchberger, both of Wausau, two grandchildren; Jonathan Buchberger, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Samantha Buchberger, River Falls and two sisters; Alice Halverson, Port Washington and Vera Rammer, Milwaukee. Visitation: Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of services at the church. Service: The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 6, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church, Mattoon. Rev. Jason Reed will officiate. Cemetery: Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Town of Hutchins, Shawano County. |
