Name: Raymond VanderKooy Dates: Birth date: December 18, 1916 Death date: February 26, 2010 Obituary: Raymond VanderKooy, age 93, town of Elderon, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Saint Clare’s Hospital, Weston.
He was born on December 18, 1916 in the township of Plover, Marathon County, the son of the late Herman and Ida (Rypkema) VanderKooy.
On May 29, 1943, he was united in marriage to Agnes R. Bernitt at Zion Lutheran Church, Eland. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2005.
Raymond farmed in the town of Elderon for many years and later worked for Greenheck for 13 years, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons; Kenneth VanderKoy, Alan (Maxine) VanderKooy, both of rural Eland, and Gary (Linda) VanderKooy, Snohomish, WA; one daughter-in-law, Beverly VanderKoy; 10 grandchildren, Mark, Jody, Jamie, Kim, Kelly, Stacey, Adrienne, Renee, Kristine and Melisa and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Scott VanderKoy and three brothers, Bill, Harry and Fred.
Visitation: Visitation will be on Monday from 5pm until 8pm at Schmidt Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg and on Tuesday from 10am until the time of services at the church. Service: The Funeral Service will be at 11am on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church, Eland. Rev. Michael Schram will officiate. Cemetery: Interment will be in Evergreen Rest Cemetery, Elderon. |
