Obituary:

John P. Casetta, Jr., age 93, Wittenberg, town of Almon, died July 12, 2010 at his home under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.


He was born on March 18, 1917 in Eden, Wisconsin, the son of the late John P. and Orsola (Carola) Casetta.


On June 10, 1946, John was united in marriage to Frances Hefling in Eden.  She survives.


John was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII and was a member of the Davenport-Lang American Legion Post #414, Bowler and the Elderon VFW Memorial Post #8068.


John farmed, owned a refridgeration business and a Christmas tree farm.  He enjoyed golfing, gardening, his trips to Florida and working with his Christmas trees which he called his 'little angels'.


Survivors include his wife, Frances; four sons, John "Jack" (Marilyn) Casetta, Germantown, Glen (Adeline) Casetta, Hartford, Leon (Sharon) Casetta, Skokie, IL and Clark (Amy) Casetta, Wittenberg; nine grandsons, Craig, Brett, Kyle, Eric, Aaron, Marc, Brian, David and Daniel; one granddaughter, Corrine; four great-grandsons; seven great-granddaughters and three sisters, Lenora Spranger, Wittenberg, June Lichtensteiger, New Mexico and Mary (Ivan) Londo, Arizona.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta.


Visitation:

Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00am until the time of services at the church.



Service:

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Holy Family-St. William Catholic Church, Wittenberg.  Rev. Patrick Lloyd will officiate. 



Cemetery:

Interment will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, township of Hutchins, Shawano County.
